The Tsunami on December 26 th 2004 claimed an estimated 227,073 lives across twelve countries. 175,300 bodies were recovered. Two years later 50,733 people are still missing, presumed deceased. It’s estimated that a third of the victims were children.

Thousands of survivors are still trying to rebuild their lives and the process will continue for many years to come.
